Our Story

In 2020, we acquired a neglected building, it had been abandoned for decades, once a bustling metal workshop. During our initial exploration, we discovered remnants of its past: ironwork, gates, and a century-old safe. Over the past two years, we've renovated it extensively using specialist building techniques. We have installed a new Victorian front door, a new roof, flooring, electrics and plumbing. We've also added high-speed WiFi, merging historical charm with modern functionality. Along the way we consulted with photographers, curators, models and artists so we could build the perfect multi-purpose creative studio from scratch.

Mission

Abstract Studios was started by Dean Douglas and Charles Krell. Our goal is to foster a vibrant environment where people can connect, share ideas, and showcase their talents. By establishing Abstract Studios, we aim to provide a space where creativity flourishes. We also hope to contribute to the rich cultural tapestry of Manchester.
